About Me

I have been working in the mental health field for 20 years. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Academic Psychology from the University of Tennessee; I then earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University, and worked for several years as a therapist before returning to school to earn a Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Tennessee, specializing in Psychiatry.

I have been working as a Board-Certified Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for the past 5 years. Throughout my years of work in mental health, I have worked in a variety of settings, including: forensic, crisis services, residential, adult outpatient, adult inpatient, and geriatric inpatient. I have a passion for working with individuals and developing a holistic plan with each person to address all life facets.

I believe that each person is an individual, with their own set of experiences, struggles, and issues. There is no cookie-cutter treatment when it comes to helping a person improve their life. I take the time to truly get to know each person I work with to determine not only what brought them to this place in their life, but also how to bring them to the best functioning they can achieve.
